This restorative yoga series will offer space for participants to be present with the longest, coldest, rainiest nights, a natural time of reflection; before spring is here. The world is moving fast and dramatically with so much loss, as well as reasons for hope. These classes will offer tools for daily life, reminders of how to access stillness and intentional, slower action; necessary for integrating lessons and wisdom from the seasons and our lives. February 21's class will focus on grounding into the present moment, supporting your root. February 28 will invite support for your heart. March 6 will offer cues and shapes for your inner wisdom and whole being.Â
Ben Jaggers, LMT, will offer hands-on support (for those who want it) through craniosacral holds and other gentle methods that foster awareness and rest in the poses.Â
Each class will be organized in a similar sequence: guided meditation, pranayama and awareness for breath, gentle poses on the floor (no standing poses), poetry. Students will be invited and compassionately guided, to stay in each pose for minutes at a time, fully supported with props. These aren't stretching poses or poses to 'work' anything. The intention with restorative yoga in this series is to provide a container for students to more easily access the magic space in consciousness, just before sleep.Â
What to Bring;Â
Students are encouraged to bring many props for as much ease and comfort as possible (two or three smaller blankets or beach towels, a yoga mat, yoga blocks, warm and comfy clothing, an eye pillow, a bolster or firm pillow). A few extra blankets and mats will be available.
